On my faith wandering, I have been
Found, then Lost
Enlightened, then Confused
Joyful, then Angry
Encouraged, then Discouraged
Edified, then Rebuked
Lifted up, then Assaulted
Over and over, on and on.
I’ve been told “to keep quiet and learn”
by the same people who told me I need to be obedient to the Spirit of God…………
Just don’t say a word.
I’ve been on the upper echelon of the Institutional Mountain,
only to realize I wasn’t high enough to enjoy the view,
but high enough to fear the fall.
I’ve seen triumph turn to tragedy
And songs being sadly sung behind a wall of despair.
Tears of pain falsely painted as a battle cry of victory.
I’ve seen history repeat itself under the disguise of reform.
We swarm to the land of milk and honey that has been processed and manufactured
By a few who know best
While the rest willingly trust and digest what’s being fed to us.
With a frail Body and a fat belly, we’ve discovered a way to
Run on empty.
On my faith wandering, I have been
Found, then Lost
Enlightened, then Confused
Joyful, then Angry
Encouraged, then Discouraged
Edified, then Rebuked
Lifted up, then Assaulted
Over and over, on and on.
I’ve finally come to realize,
I AM NOT ALONE.
I dance to the singing voices of a disillusioned people searching for
God knows what.
This is where we want to be.
