High Cost Of Doing

The LORD said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by.”
Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.
Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here…” - 1 Kings 19:1-16

It really doesn’t take much effort for us to become too occupied.
Lies that culture has spoon-fed the church
has us all believing that
IF I STAY BUSY, I HAVE MY WORTH.
Service after service, devotion followed by devotion.
It’s a dangerous notion to believe that
things being done are equivalent to high value.
But the actual truth is
THERE’S A HIGH COST.
Silence has been lost in the sounds of liturgical rigmarole.
Polished order in the church leaves our individual lives in a pool of chaos.
Leaving us no room to experience enough solitude to
bathe in the mystery of
A GOD WHO SPEAKS IN A WHISPER.
